MEME DROP™ is a South African online retail brand. This page explains how information is handled when you visit memedrop.co.za, contact us, subscribe to drop alerts, place an order or purchase an interactive digital extra.

Information we may collect

  • Name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.
  • Order, payment-status, fulfilment, return and customer-support information.
  • Information voluntarily submitted through Internet Side Quests, collector upgrades, contact forms or other interactive features.
  • Marketing preferences and newsletter consent.
  • Device, browser, IP address, cookie, session, security and storefront-usage information.

Payment-card details are handled by Shopify and the payment providers available at checkout. MEME DROP does not intentionally store full card numbers on its own systems.

How information is used

Information may be used to operate the store, process and verify orders, arrange delivery, provide preorder and dispatch updates, answer support requests, moderate and fulfil digital participation purchases, prevent fraud and abuse, keep accounting and legal records, improve the storefront and send marketing communications where permitted.

Interactive submissions

Side Quest, archive, certificate and similar submissions are linked to an order so that the purchased service can be reviewed and processed. Public display is not automatic. Material may be rejected, reformatted or returned for replacement when it is unlawful, abusive, misleading, impersonating, infringing or unsuitable for the project.

Service providers

Information may be shared only as reasonably necessary with Shopify, payment processors, couriers, fulfilment providers, email and hosting providers, security and analytics services, professional advisers and public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Cookies

Shopify and connected services may use cookies and similar technologies for essential storefront functions, checkout, security, preferences, analytics and marketing. Blocking some cookies can prevent parts of the store or checkout from working correctly.

International processing

Shopify and some service providers may process information outside South Africa. MEME DROP uses established service providers and reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and service involved.

Retention and security

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide purchased services, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet accounting, tax or other legal obligations. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may request access to or correction of personal information, withdraw marketing consent, object to certain processing or request deletion where continued retention is not required. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed.
